Koontz, Robin. Up All Night: a Pop-up Book. Paper Engineering Bruce Foster. New York: Simon and Schuster, 2006. ISBN 1-4169-0706-8.

Both a Pop-up book AND a counting book for toddlers/preschoolers, this animal pop-up is simple compared to the glorious creations of Sabuda and Reinhart. But the comparative simplicity is appropriate to a counting book for toddler age. With big illustrations of friendly, intriguing, movable animals and very simple rhymes, it’s an excellent buy, a book that will be enjoyed again and again. It’s worth the price just to see what the fireflies do.

A. Allison, June 2007
