Bateman, Katherine R. The Young Investor: Projects and Activities for Making Your Money Grow. Chicago : Chicago Review Press, 2001. ISBN 1-55652-396-3.$14.95. Ages 9+. 120 pp.

Bateman's book is truly a wonderful resource for learning how money grows-or rather, how it can be grown-from saving to investing and how to read the market to the basics of national economy. The exposition is clear, the layout is friendly and varied, and the plentiful example geared well to the audience. The audience can, of course, include adults looking for an inexpensive and quite useful guide to money matters.
