Whitney, Louise Doak. C Is for Centennial: A Colorado Alphabet. Illus. Helle Urban. Chelsea, MI: Sleeping Bear Press, 2002. $17.95. ISBN 1-58536-058-9.

When I’m not in San Diego, I’m in Colorado, but my love of the state is only one of the reasons I liked this book. The illustrations for C Is for Centennial are
lovely realistic pastel-colored panoramas or close-ups of Colorado butterflies and Indian Paintbrush. The prose provides well-selected facts.
