Livingston, Irene. Finklehopper Frog. Berkeley: Tricycle Press, 2003. $14.95
ISBN 1-58246-075-2

Finklehopper Frog notices that his neighbors are jogging for exercise and hops down the road to get a new, colorful suit. But the other animals laugh at his "rockin'" suit and make fun of the way he moves. However, Finklehopper is a determined frog and decides to continue hopping along. He finds a friend in Ruby Rabbit and guess what--she hops too! Finklehopper learns "that everyone has special things to do and say and be." This is a fun story to teach about individual differences and how they make us special. Rhyming text gives this story a sing-song quality. Humorous and detailed illustrations by Brian Lies capture the spirit of each animal character.
