Johnson, Arden. The Lost Tooth Club. Berkeley, CA.: Tricycle Press, 2001 (paperback; orig. 1997). $6.95. ISBN 1-58246-041-8.

A girl cannot join her friends' Lost Tooth Club before she has lost her first tooth. The tooth is loose, but won't go out, and the girl tries a number of tricks on her friends. There is not much challenge in this story, and the pictures are merely decorative, hardly adding any tension. However, since the story tells about an experience every child has either behind or still in store, it may prove enjoyable, and it can certainly serve a purpose for a child who is just about to lose a tooth.
