Friedlander, Mark P. Jr., and Terry M. Phillips, PhD, DSc. The Immune System: Your Body's Disease-Fighting Army. Lerner Publications Company, 1998. $23.93. ISBN 0-8225-2858-4.

This is an impressive, informative book on the human immune system. Freedlander and Phillips give the reader numerous facts about how our bodies defends itself against disease, what happens when our immune system fails, and a wealth of other important information. This book is so very well written, it could be used as a textbook for children in the middle school. This 110-page book should be of high interest to any child who may choose to be in the health profession in the future; in addition, parents may enjoy this book, as well.

Recommended reading level: Age 11-14
